Squad Swimming

We offer a variety of squad classes:

Squads are run by qualified swimming Queensland coaches, and progress between the squad levels is at their discretion.

Squad levelDescription
Mini
  • For swimmers coming out of transition squad. Swimmers must be ≥ 7 years of age.
  • This squad is an introduction to club swimming and swimmers learn training etiquette, drills, starts, turns and finishes.
  • All strokes are worked in rotation.
  • Swimmers will swim from 800m to 1.2 km per session.
  • It is recommended swimmers do 2 sessions per week.
Junior
  • Swimmers are introduced to training behaviour and increased endurance work. Swimmers must be ≥ 9 years of age.
  • Swimmers will swim up to 2 km per session.
  • All strokes are worked on in rotation and correct stroke is still emphasised.
  • More advanced drills are introduced along with race technique.
  • It is recommended swimmers do 2-3 sessions per week.
Senior
  • For swimmers who wish to increase their fitness level and/or swim competitively.
  • Swimmers swim up to 3 km per session.
  • Competitive swimmers will swim more than 3km/session and are recommended to swim 3-4 sessions per week.
